The Joy Luck Club
The Joy Luck Club is a poignant exploration of identity, family ties and cultural legacies. Through the lens of eight Chinese-American women and their daughters, the author weaves an emotionally rich tale, revealing the complexities of intergenerational relationships between immigrant mothers and American-born daughters.
The minimalist cover depicts a memory of China, drawn in coloured pencil to blend the mother's memories with the more naïve universe of children. The hand lettering, inspired by the great Pierre di Sciullo, makes the cover vibrant and dynamic.
